Barrelhouse Distillery is a product line created to showcase my creative process from beginning to end for a hypothetical small batch, artisan distillery. A barrelhouse originally referred to a bar that served whiskey straight from the barrel. This imagery played a big role in the brand identity. However, due to the idea that this distillery wasn't just going to be slinging whiskey, but numerous other spirits, there needed to be both consistent branding across the product line, but unique artwork for each spirit. I created a system for the use of color, text, and graphic elements across the product line and packaging, that allowed for both the strict branding and unique artwork to work with each other to grant each spirit its own personality while still fitting within the Barrelhouse family.
